Brigham Young Mill

Originally built in 1867, the Brigham Young Cotton Mill in Washington, Utah stands as a testament to pioneer resilience and craftsmanship. When Johannessen Construction was commissioned to restore this historic landmark, the team carefully honored its original materials and building methods to maintain its place on the national registry. Broken trusses were replaced with hand-milled wood and pegged joinery in the style of the 19th century, preserving the authenticity of its structure. For John Johannessen, the project held a special meaning—years before he ever restored the mill, he had unknowingly celebrated a romantic evening there, never imagining he would one day bring it back to life. Today, the mill has been transformed into a cherished venue for weddings and events, where history and community come together under its timeless roof.
